Why I finally deactivated my personal Facebook account in 2024

Feb 5, 2011, I was in the 5th grade when my oldest sister who was in college at the time helped me sign up for Facebook I was amazed at what we could do with this power Facebook has the power to do good and not-so-good bring people together and could tear people apart let me backup I have mild Cerebral Palsy and don't have a license and maybe never will so that song Driver's License yeah... not my favorite. but that's beside the point. I'm also an evangelical Christian who wants to be a pastor one day so why give up Facebook? Isn't Vial to get in the know? before you worry about me and my decision it wasn't born out of being sad if anything Facebook was making me feel down I just needed a change of pace away from FB Facebook in the year of our lord 2024 felt fake and counterproductive it was fun to me from 2014 to 2022 now I don't regret everything about what on the site I'm grateful for Messenger that way I haven't thrown the baby out with the bath water although I'm still  debating on getting a new account and then deactivate that one. It’s just that I want to know everyone who is on my Friend list now. I don't know about the reader but I have 1000 people on my friend list now don't get me wrong. People meet online all the time but who knows 1000 people?! For Goodness sake can you picture that on your phone's contact list ? 1000 people having your phone number for me it’s too much with my Inattentive ADHD brain. Back in 2022, I read Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport ( 5 stars on Goodreads feel free to follow me on there) and I saw The Social Dilemma a Netflix documentary I almost pulled the trigger now right now I like having Peace of mind. I hope to stay off it for good chuck of 2024

Hope you liked that short intro blog I hope to have many more
DFTBA and God Bless.
