My top 10 books of 2024
Hello everyone, welcome to my blog with 2024 coming to a close I figured I could rank my top ten books for the year 2024 I read this year my name is Jesse, and I have mild Cerebral Palsy I love Jesus and books.
starting with three honorable mentions
The Science of Star Wars: The Scientific Facts Behind the Force, Space Travel, and More! Mark Brake, Jon Chase
fun read but some went over my head if you are a science and a Star Wars Nerd. it deals with pretty heavy science most of which went over my head
Disability and the Church: A Vision for Diversity and Inclusion Lamar Hardwick Bill Gaventa 
An important book to read if you have a Disability and want to follow Jesus it had quite a impact on me I want to be a pastor one day it's nice to have someone to look forward to

must read if you are a Star Wars Clone Wars (TV show) fan
#10 Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
This book was a thrill to read if you are an Early American history buff like I want to be. I have wanted to expand my readings if you are not intimidated by the 818 pages ( if you are I highly think you should give it a shot anyway) it's a joy to read and learn about the early history of the great US of A

#9 The Two Falls: Reconciling A Benevolent God with a Brutal Earth
Now, I thought this book was very good. It reminded me of Perspectives on the Historical Adam and Eve: Four Views. a later book The writing respects every perspective in the creation debate. If you want to dive headfirst into the thoughtful approach to the problem of evil, I rated it 4 stars on Goodreads. 4 because it was a tad dry in some parts. (it's also on Kindle unlimited by the way)

Now for Abe Lincoln lovers, this one is for you it was detailed, I'll admit I put this book down I forget why but I'm sure glad I picked this up again lincoln is such an interesting man this made me want to read more about him. who is this for? American History Nerds and biography lovers

#7 The Civil War as a Theological Crisis by Mark a Noll
This book marries Civil War history and church history beautifully along with the theological debates at that time. A very interesting audio book with 5 stars on Good-reads who is this for? If you are a fan of church history and the civil war
#6 God's Grandeur: The Catholic Case for Intelligent Design Edited by Ann Gager P.H. D.
While I'm not Catholic I thought this was a very solid audio Book on ID theory I find the debate very interesting. It can be a little dense but overall very enjoyable to read/listen to. Who is this for? Anyone interested in the evolution creation debate or Catholics who are interested in ID. 4 stars on Goodreads
#5 What It Means to Be Protestant: The Case for an Always-Reforming Church by Gavin Orland PHD
Now in late 2019, I wasn't sure which denomination/church should I join. I wish this book had been around back then Gavin Orland's YouTube channel has helped me so much in my faith journey if you are going through similar things this book is for you 5 stars on Goodreads.
#4 Perspectives on the Historical Adam and Eve: Four Views
This book was so good for Anyone interested in the evolution-creation debate and/or who finds the historicity of Adam and Eve interesting. Each essay is thoughtful and fair. If you're a nerd about this like I am, you'll love this book. It has 5 stars on Goodreads.
#3 How to Read a Book: Advice for Christian Readers
Now I love being a Christian and I love reading it was the right book for me it's full of helpful advice on reading, reading the bible when you should read, etc. if you want good reading advice from a Christian worldview (it's on Kindle unlimited by the way) 5 stars on Goodreads.
#2 Practicing the Way: Be with Jesus, Become Like Him, Do As He Did
I really like John Mark Comer, Every one of his books very much I give 5 stars and this delivers! from the intro on Goodreads. "This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life" I listened to the audiobook and it's read by John Mark Comer himself. If you want to get deeper in your faith I highly recommend you start with this book.
#1 The Sacred Chain: How Understanding Evolution Leads to Deeper Faith
I love the Language of God podcast and Jim Stump's book a knockout of the park! Part autobiography all Science and Faith his voice it's like a warm home-cooked meal on a winter's day paired with hot coco It makes you think deeper about science and faith from an old Earth Intelligent Design point of view I learned a lot about evolution which was a refreshing take.
